Global Community-Based Projects:
In partnership with the North Charleston Recreation Department and USTA South Carolina, Madison Keys and Kindness Wins revealed newly renovated tennis courts at the JV Morris Tennis Center on April 3, 2023. After the unveiling, Kindness Wins and USTA SC hosted a youth tennis clinic, the “Clinic for Kindness,” with support from other local tennis organizations such as Lowcountry Youth Tennis Association, Lowcountry Tennis Association and Third Serve Foundation.
The foundation supports youth access to sports, education and their own desires to make a difference and create a kinder world, always showing that #KindnessWins.
Donations will be granted through the Quad Cities Community Foundation in Bettendorf, Iowa by recommendations from Madison and her team to nonprofit projects and organizations.
A native of Rock Island, Illinois, Madison Keys is a Grand Slam Champion (2025 Australian Open), Grand Slam Finalist (2017 US Open), and holds 10 WTA titles.
Having achieved a career-high ranking of No. 6 in the world, Madison set her sights off the court on creating a kinder world across all genders, ages and races, and launched her charity initiative as Kindness Wins.
Madison's goal is to use her global platform to spread kindness through her words and exemplify kindness through her charitable actions.
Our community-driven model has been integral to our success over the last 16 years since our founding. Through a comprehensive, local approach, an entire village has undergone a transformative ripple effect. And it all starts with education: an educated woman is more likely to give back to her community, to inspire others to attend school, and to cultivate a sense of independence among both her peers and the next generation.
At Malaika, we believe that this community-driven model can, and should, be adopted on the global stage.
Malaika is impacting thousands of lives and transforming an entire community in the Democratic Republic of the Congo through enhanced access to education, water, and healthcare. We’re teaching girls to question and engage and to evolve into progressive leaders who can positively affect their villages, their country, and even their world.
Access to education, water and healthcare has empowered an entire community in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Malaika’s community-driven approach is a model that can be replicated across the world.
In our classrooms, How to Think Like a Chef proved to be a perfect way to illustrate how to take a topic and transform it into something truly engaging and "delicious." Students loved putting on their "chef thinking caps" to participate, offering some surprisingly sophisticated and well-thought-out responses.
Great topics explored included: What is a chef and what is their “process”, safety techniques in the kitchen, tools of the trade, types of cooking, and what one can make with items from YOUR garden herbs and vegetables.
“Given the best education and tools, ones innate potential and desire to live a life of health and well-being, can become a reality”. To that end, the organization’s mission seeks to empower people and communities to achieve wellness and wellbeing through expertise, education and guidance.
